The responsibilities of the Diversity Committee are as follows:
- Seek ways to achieve a more diverse and inclusive student body, staff, and faculty.
- Seek ways to create and sustain a college environment that acknowledges and celebrates diversity by employing inclusive practices.
Committee makeup: The committee will be composed of one faculty member each from the Departments of Biomedical Sciences, Veterinary Medicine & Surgery, and Veterinary Pathobiology (3), one staff member with supervising responsibility (1), and one student member each from the VM1 and VM2 classes (2). Faculty and staff members will serve a three-year term, whereas student members will serve a one-year term. The committee will elect a Chair. The Dean, Associate Dean of Student and Alumni Affairs, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, and Director of Student Recruiting will serve as ex officio members. Ad hoc members may be added based on interest or need.
Meetings and Minutes: The committee will meet at least twice yearly. The committee will provide a copy of minutes to the Office of Academic Affairs.
