Counseling is available to all MU College of Veterinary Medicine students and fellows at no additional cost. Kerry Karaffa, PhD, a licensed psychologist, is the mental health and wellness coordinator with the MU Counseling Center and College of Veterinary Medicine. Counseling may consist of one or several sessions; Dr. Karaffa will tailor services to fit your individual needs and goals.
Confidentiality is extremely important. Each of us wants to know that our personal conversations with a counselor will remain private. Your written and signed authorization is required before information concerning your care can be disclosed to any individual outside of the MU Counseling Center/CVM Counseling Services, including family, friends, instructors and CVM administrators. There are limited instances in accordance with Missouri law when your signed authorization is not needed. Dr. Karaffa will discuss all limits of confidentiality prior to beginning counseling.
