MU College of Veterinary Medicine alumna Amanda Fales-Williams, DVM, PhD, DACVP, has been appointed as the interim chair of the Department of Veterinary Pathology at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She replaces Joe Haynes, who stepped down from the position.
Fales-Williams received her doctorate of veterinary medicine in 1995 at Mizzou. She went on to earn a PhD and complete a residency in veterinary pathology at Iowa State in 2000. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists.
She is the inaugural holder of the Tyrone D. Artz M.D. Chair for Teaching Excellence in the Iowa State CVM and is the recipient of multiple teaching and advising awards. She is currently serving as the president-elect of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association.
