University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine Senior Business Support Specialist and CVM Staff Advisory Council Chair Billy Jamison was recently named as one of McPherson College’s three Young Alumni Award recipients. Jamison, who has been at Mizzou since 2004, has served in different departments across campus. He began his current role at the CVM in 2012. Jamison graduated from McPherson in 1988. His alma mater will recognize him Oct. 14, 2022, in McPherson, Kansas, during the college’s 2022 homecoming celebration.
According to the McPherson website, the purpose of the Young Alumni Award is to recognize achievement and potential for accomplishment of McPherson College young alumni. This award is given to alumni who are meeting significant challenges in pursuit of professional goals, as well as involved in service to others and church, and who participate in alumni activities.
“First of all, the news was a total surprise to me,” said Jamison. “It is a tremendous honor to have been selected by the board of curators. I enjoy mentoring students, and to be recognized by my alma mater for giving back is unbelievable to me. Born and raised in Los Angeles, I always dreamed of going to college. To receive this award is something I could not have imagined. I’m so thankful to McPherson College and I’m proud to be an alumnus of such a great institution.”
