During your education at MU’s College of Veterinary Medicine you will be using computers to access, evaluate and disseminate information. It is your responsibility as a student of the institution and of the profession to use information technology resources in a manner that reflects positively upon the veterinary community. Username and Passwords:
All students are assigned a unique username when they first register for classes. Your password should be unique to your university account, do not set it to a password you use on other sites. When you sign into your account for the first time you will be prompted to set-up multi-factor authentication (MFA). This is an added layer of security that requires a second form or identification to access your account. You should never share your password or your MFA information with anyone including technical staff. You are ultimately responsible for ANY and ALL communication that is tied back to your username.
Email:
All MU students automatically receive an e-mail account. You will use your username@umsystem.edu for the username and your established password to access the account.
MU will only deliver email to your university email account and will not guarantee delivery to any other email address or system. Your university email account is the “official” delivery point for communication about classes, exams, grades and other official CVM related activities and announcements. University email cannot be forwarded to other accounts.
The university offers the option to personalize your email account.. This will not change your username or login, but it will allow you to select an email address that you can share with others that is more user friendly.
You will continue to have access to your university email account for one year after graduation. We suggest that you maintain personal email accounts (Gmail, Hotmail, AOL, etc,) to use for family/friend communication and use your MU account for professional/educational communication. Email usage is a privilege, not a right. Misuse of this medium can result in loss of service for temporary or extended periods of time.

Printing:
CVM uses Print Smart for student printing. There are two Print Smart printers located in W234N Vet Med. Students are given a print quota each semester for printing. Students can track usage and remaining semester allowance using the Print Smart portal. You can add money to your Tigercard account to pay for additional printing. Students can install these printers to their personal computers using the downloads found on the portal
Computer Check Out Devices:
The CVM IT office (W234 Vet Med) has laptop computers, power chargers, projectors and other misc. technology devices for student check out. The check out period is 3 days with an option to renew if necessary.
Computer Assistance
