The responsibilities of Visiting Lecturers Committee are as follows:

1. Choose outside speakers to address the CVM faculty and students.
2. Solicit outside funds to support an ongoing seminar series.
3. Work with the Associate Dean of Student and Academic Affairs to schedule a time when the majority of CVM faculty and students will be able to attend seminars.

Currently, a framework is in place that will provide funding through the Office of Research and the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. The committee should seek to expand this funding with outside funds.

Committee makeup: The committee will be made up of one faculty member from each department. The Director of Continuing Education will be an ex officio member. The Directors of Strategic Communications and Advancement will serve as advisors.

Meetings and Minutes: The committee will meet at least once a year. Minutes of the meeting will be submitted to the Office of Student and Academic Affairs.
