Program Size and Mentoring

There are generally 10-12 trainees at various stages in the program at any one time and 2-3 trainees are accepted each year. This relatively large number of trainees is a major asset to this training program because it provides opportunities for networking and sharing of experiences among trainees. Meet the trainees.

Mentoring

The program Co-Directors are responsible for providing guidance in selecting and scheduling initial course work and facilitating selection of a first-year research project mentor. CMP faculty are responsible for general oversight of the trainee’s program, as well as for communicating with the trainee expectations for and progress of their program.

Following the first year of the training program, trainees, in conjunction with the faculty, develop an individual development plan (IDP) to tailor their program to their career goals and interests.

In addition, each trainee selects a research mentor who supervises research training. A broad range of research opportunities are available.
