The leadership of the College of Veterinary Medicine is responsible for leading and driving innovation and excellence in the areas of teaching, research, and service. The College of Veterinary Medicine seeks candidates for the following open leadership positions:
- Chair, Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery: We are currently seeking dynamic leaders in veterinary medicine, animal research, or veterinary public health and welfare for an opening as the Chair of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. The Department Chair is responsible for fostering a collegial and team-oriented work environment, supporting faculty and staff development, and ensuring excellence across all departmental functions. The successful candidate will have a strong background in all aspects of academic life and be able to lead the planning and delivery of both didactic and clinical education, strengthen clinical innovations, and enhance and grow research activities within the department.

- Administrative Offices of the College of Veterinary Medicine (Dean of Veterinary Medicine): The staff of the administrative offices support the entire college through fiscal and budget management, human resources, marketing and communications, student services and other critical centralized functions.
- Department of Pathobiology and Integrative Biomedical Sciences (Pathobio & Integrative Biosci): The staff of the Department of Pathobiology and Integrative Biomedical Science support innovative research in translational biomedical sciences, the investigation and understanding of disease, genetic and genomic advancement, population, herd, and public health, and other important areas that advance both human and animal health and welfare. Additionally, staff in the department support the teaching mission of the college, the business operations of the department, as well as the management of research facilities, equipment and research grant dollars. - Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (Veterinary Diagnostic Laborato):The staff of the VMDL perform essential duties within our diagnostic laboratory, including diagnostic testing, blood and tissue sample processing, client interactions and support, and the fiscal and business management of the laboratory. - Veterinary Health Center and the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (Veterinary Medicine & Surgery): The staff of the VHC and the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery provide critical patient care, diagnostic and clinical support, client services, facility management and biosecurity, research support and department administrative and operational oversight to our largest academic department and our teaching hospital. The College of Veterinary Medicine is active in the advanced training of veterinarians, clinicians, and scientists. We offer numerous internship, residency and other advanced training opportunities.
- Department of Pathobiology and Integrative Biomedical Sciences and Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory: A variety of advanced study and training opportunities are offered through the Department of Pathobiology and Integrative Biomedical Sciences and the Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory. Opportunities are a combination of graduate studies programs (MS and PhD programs) and residencies in areas such as clinical pathology, anatomic veterinary pathology and comparative medicine.

- Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and Veterinary Health Center: The Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery hosts around 90 house officers (interns and residents) annually through a variety of programs. Our house officers not only complete advanced training in specialized areas of veterinary medicine, but they also serve as critical members of the treatment teams within the Veterinary Health Center and aid in the instruction of DVM program students on clinical rotation. Many, but not all, of our internship and residency opportunities are managed through the national Veterinary Internship and Residency Matching Program.

- PAVE Evaluated Clinical Experience: The College of Veterinary Medicine is proud to participate in the Program for the Assessment of Veterinary Education Equivalence (PAVE) through the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB). PAVE serves as a pathway for veterinarians who are graduates of international, non-accredited veterinary programs to further develop clinical competencies at AVMA-accredited veterinary schools. This includes pursuing licensure in the United State and Canada. Our first PAVE EVE cohort began in May 2015 and since then, approximately 60 participants have completed the program.
- Veterinary Technician Externship: the Veterinary Health Center and the Department of Veterinary Medicine offer a summer externship opportunity to current veterinary technology program students. The program is designed to meet the criteria of your Veterinary Technology degree, expose students to a wide range of treatments and specialties with veterinary medicine, and provide significant hands-on learning opportunities. There are two extern openings each summer.
