The Missouri Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA) Convention is more than just a gathering — it’s a celebration of innovation, collaboration and the shared passion for advancing animal health. At this year’s event, Mizzou’s College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) has an extensive lineup of talks and opportunities designed to inspire, educate and connect veterinary professionals throughout the Midwest.
Here are five ways to connect with us at the convention.
1. Hear updates and presentations from dozens of Mizzou CVM experts.
As the state’s only institution to award the doctor of veterinary medicine degree, Mizzou is home to world-class faculty who are leading groundbreaking research, advancing animal health and training the next generation of veterinarians. From presentations on Chronic Wasting Disease to advanced vaccine development for bovine anaplasmosis, equine cardiology and more, we’re here to help you continue your education.
And, if you’re looking for ways to improve your own health, our embedded counseling team will be leading multiple sessions on how to improve your own wellbeing.
2. Go hands-on with equine live lab opportunities on campus.
On Sunday, Feb. 2, join Drs. Lynn Martin, DVM, MPH, DACVIM; Hannah R. Leventhal, DVM, MS, DACVIM; and Kevin Keegan, DVM, MS, DACVS, at Mizzou’s Veterinary Health Center for three hands-on laboratory sessions. These labs cover practical experience in important equine care procedures, and you’ll even have the opportunity for a behind-the-scenes tour of our cutting-edge standing CT imaging system.
3. Schedule an on-site rabies titer test.
Rabies prevention is essential for veterinary professionals, and Mizzou’s Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VMDL) has partnered with MVMA to offer convenient and affordable human rabies titer testing in booths 51/54 of the convention exhibit hall. Appointments are available Friday, Jan. 31 and Saturday, Feb. 1 during exhibit hall hours. Walk-ins are welcome if space is available.
4. Join us for breakfast with the college.
Start your Sunday morning with a productive and engaging breakfast with us from 7 to 7:45 a.m. in Expo I. This buffet-style event offers an excellent opportunity to connect with Mizzou veterinarians, researchers and faculty members in an inviting and collaborative environment. Attendees will have the chance to engage in meaningful discussions about the latest advancements in veterinary medicine, explore potential collaborations and gain insights from some of the leading experts in the field.
5. Stop by our booths to learn more and connect.
The CVM will have multiple booths throughout the exhibit hall. Whether you’re seeking information on our latest research breakthroughs, exploring specialized programs or looking to discuss opportunities for collaboration, our team will be on hand to provide personalized guidance. Don’t miss the chance to engage with our experts and discover how we can help you elevate your practice.
