Karla Driskill was recently named a Service Champion Award recipient by the University of Missouri Staff Advisory Council. Driskill has worked at Mizzou for more than 20 years.

As a human resources specialist, Driskill is a cornerstone of the Dean’s Office. Her duties include managing HR and payroll responsibilities with accuracy and care and ensuring processes run smoothly for faculty, staff and student workers. She continually goes above and beyond her core responsibilities by lending a helping hand wherever it is needed.

Driskill’s nominators describe her as reliable, welcoming and thoughtful. She greets others with a smile, offers help before anyone needs to ask and is often the first to guide new team members through processes that help them feel comfortable. Colleagues say what truly sets her apart is her kindness — she remembers the small details, checks in when someone is having a tough day and makes everyone feel welcome. Her sense of humor, generosity and steady support make her an invaluable part of the team.

Karla is an invaluable member of our team, consistently demonstrating exceptional dedication, professionalism and a genuine commitment to the success of our college,” wrote Morgan McDonald, senior executive assistant to the dean, in a nomination letter. “Her work ethic is unmatched, and she approaches every task with efficiency and attention to detail. More importantly, she does all of this with a positive attitude, creating an environment that is both welcoming and productive.”
