The University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine welcomes Tim Snider, DVM, PhD, DACVP, to the college as the new associate dean for academic and student affairs. Snider replaces Leah Cohn, DVM, PhD, who was filling the position in an interim capacity and is now the CVM’s interim dean. Snider’s appointment is effective Sept. 1.

Snider is a 1996 graduate of the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. His professional career includes three years as a rural mixed animal practitioner in Hobart, Oklahoma, prior to completing a pathology residency at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Snider then became certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and earned a PhD in infectious diseases at Oklahoma State. Snider transitioned into a full-time faculty position at Oklahoma State where he served in a number of positions, with the bulk of his appointments involving classroom and laboratory instruction, while also providing diagnostic services and collaborative research in projects requiring pathology assessments.

“I look forward to working with faculty and students alike in continuing to implement and improve the professional program in veterinary medicine,” Snider said of his new position at Mizzou.

“I am excited to join a talented and dedicated faculty and staff to deliver the veterinary program to the dedicated and enthusiastic budding veterinarians,” Snider says. “It is exciting to be part of the state’s pre-eminent institution and also be part of the land-grant mission. I hope I can contribute in several ways to the diverse missions of the CVM.”
