The University of Missouri Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory’s One Health-Rabies Laboratory has achieved official approval from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to conduct rabies serology testing.

This recognition follows a rigorous evaluation process, including a proficiency test to ensure the laboratory meets international standards for rabies serology testing. With this approval, the One Health-Rabies Laboratory joins a group of 25 internationally approved laboratories authorized to conduct rabies serology testing for the CDC’s Approved Rabies Serology Laboratories for Testing Dogs program.

In the United States, only four institutions hold this distinction.
