Elizabeth Giuliano, DVM, MS, DACVO, a professor at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, has been elected to the governing body of the American Board of Veterinary Ophthalmology (ABVO).
The ABVO promotes the advancement of veterinary ophthalmology by establishing and maintaining objective standards for board certification. As a member of the governing body, Giuliano will help shape certification policies, support the profession’s continued growth and work closely with the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists to advance excellence in education and clinical practice.
The election recognizes Giuliano’s longstanding contributions to the field through teaching, research and professional service. Since joining the University of Missouri in 1999, she has trained more than 45 residents and graduate students while consistently contributing to the scientific literature.
“I am honored to serve on the ABVO governing body, especially after my previous service on the ACVO Board of Regents,” Giuliano said. “Throughout my career, I have been committed to advancing veterinary ophthalmology through education, mentorship and service. I look forward to working with my colleagues to strengthen certification standards, encourage collaboration and help ensure our profession continues to evolve as we better serve animals, veterinarians and the public with excellence.”
