The University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine’s expertise in large animal medicine will have a new voice at the national level. Hannah Leventhal, DVM, MS, DACVIM (LAIM), assistant teaching professor of equine emergency medicine and equine internal medicine has been elected member at-large of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) Board of Regents.

Selected through a national election open to ACVIM members across six veterinary specialties, Leventhal will help shape the direction of the organization as part of its governing board. She will also bring a large animal perspective to conversations spanning the veterinary internal medicine profession.

“I’m excited to bring large animal representation to the Board of Regents and to work with specialists and professional organizations from across veterinary medicine,” Leventhal said. “It’s an opportunity to learn, contribute and continue developing as a leader.”

Leventhal begins her three-year term Jan. 1, 2027.
