Faculty from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine were recognized with some of the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association’s (MVMA) highest honors at the 2026 MVMA Convention, underscoring the college’s leadership, service and impact within the veterinary profession.
John Dodam, DVM, MS, PhD, DACVAA, was named MVMA Veterinarian of the Year, the association’s highest and most prestigious recognition. Selected by the MVMA Board on behalf of nearly 1,700 veterinary members across Missouri, the award honors a veterinarian whose career reflects exceptional professional excellence, service and leadership. Dodam was selected for his reputation as a skilled and knowledgeable clinician, his deep dedication to patients and clients, and his sustained engagement in organized veterinary medicine. Equally central to this honor is his commitment to mentoring future veterinarians and the lasting, positive impact he has had on students, colleagues and communities throughout his career.
Additionally,
- Kevin Keegan, DVM, MS, DACVS, received the MVMA President’s Award for his instrumental contributions to advancing animal health and strengthening the veterinary profession across Missouri.
- Tim Evans, DVM, PhD, was honored with the MVMA Academy Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his meritorious service to promoting and advancing continuing education within veterinary medicine.
Together, these recognitions reflect the breadth of expertise at the Mizzou College of Veterinary Medicine and the enduring commitment of its faculty to leadership, education and service across Missouri and beyond.
