Pamela Adkins, DVM, PhD, DACVIM-LA, an associate professor at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, recently received the 2026 West Agro Inc. Award from the American Dairy Science Association (ADSA), one of the nation’s leading professional organizations for dairy science.
The award recognizes outstanding contributions to milk quality research and honors individuals whose research, mentorship and service have made a significant impact on the dairy science community. The West Agro Inc. Award is included on the National Research Council’s list of prestigious awards, underscoring the national significance of the recognition.
“It is a huge honor to be recognized by the ADSA and to receive this award,” Adkins said. “ I am grateful to my mentors, collaborators and the great dairy team we have here at Mizzou. I hope to share the recognition with the amazing group of graduate, undergraduate and veterinary students that have been a part of my team and whom have found their own path through their excellent contributions to milk quality.”
Adkins’ research focuses on mastitis and milk quality, with an emphasis on improving dairy cattle health and helping producers make evidence-based decisions. Her work bridges research and clinical practice, advancing knowledge that supports both animal health and the dairy industry.
