Process for Doctoral Faculty Status with Veterinary Pathobiology
Graduate Faculty status with the graduate school allows faculty to serve on and chair master’s committees and may serve on or co-chair doctoral committees.
However, in order to chair a doctoral committee you will need to have Doctoral Faculty status with each department/program. Membership is granted for a specific department/program; thus, it is possible to have doctoral faculty status in more than one department or program.
For VPB’s Pathobiology Area Program/Biomedical Sciences with Pathobiology emphasis, we ask for the application to be completed and review of the Bylaws and FAQs. Once an application is received, reviewed, and approved the nomination will be submitted to the graduate school for their final approval. The graduate school will email their final decision. Once approved, Doctoral Faculty status is renewed every 5 years, and Graduate Faculty status never expires. If you have already received Doctoral Faculty status with your home department, please send a copy of your approval letter along with your CV for VPB review and approval for Doctoral Faculty status with Veterinary Pathobiology graduate programs.
